Expat woman and her husband acquitted from defraud

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 19: The Court of Appeals acquitted an expatriate woman and her husband who were accused of defrauding the mother of a Central Prison inmate by claiming to have the ability to expedite the procedures for the deportation of her daughter for which they charge KD 6,000.

The Public Prosecution accused the couple of deceiving the victim with the intent of defrauding her by using fraudulent methods by claiming to have the ability of securing early release of her daughter from the Central Prison and sending her back to her country in exchange of money.

According to the investigations, the first defendant confessed to having received KD 4,200 from the victim in exchange for carrying out a commercial project that brings them together with the daughter of the victim – an inmate of the Central Prison but that she did not receive any other amounts from her through the second defendant.
