KUWAIT CITY, Feb 18: The Ministry of Interior has initiated an investigation following an incident reported by an expatriate to the Al-Ahmadi police station on Sunday, February 18, 2024. The victim recounted being forcefully robbed at knifepoint, losing 4,000 dinars in front of a gas station in Al-Ahmadi, reports Al-Anba daily. According to the expatriate’s statement, he had just withdrawn an amount totaling 4,000 dinars from a national bank, intended for workers’ salaries. Shortly after leaving the bank premises, he was intercepted by an individual driving a white four-wheel-drive vehicle. This assailant brandished a knife, compelling the victim to surrender the withdrawn sum.

Speculation arises that someone within the bank premises might have tipped off the perpetrator regarding the victim’s possession of a substantial amount, making him a target for theft. Authorities have confirmed the initiation of a thorough investigation, intending to ascertain the veracity of the victim’s account and gather further details about the assailant and the vehicle used in the crime. The incident has been formally registered as a case of forcible robbery.
