Education Ministry to lessen burden on teachers

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 20: An educational source said the Ministry of Education has accepted about 87 female candidates holding intermediate certificates to work as supervisor assistants in schools, reports Al-Rai daily.

The source explained that the Ministry has defined some of the duties of those holding these positions which are exclusively for female employees only, to supervise students and follow up on their attendance and monitor their activities during school hours, stressing that “the job description for this profession will be fully defined so that the specializations do not overlap with each other.”

The source added that the number of assistants in each school will be determined based on the number of female candidates to work in these positions, although in most cases it does not exceed two in each school, indicating that the distribution of assistants will be limited to kindergartens and primary sections in the first stage, and then extended to other sections if need be.
