KUWAIT CITY, June 23: Dusty and windy weather is expected to persist across Kuwait until Thursday evening, according to Dirar Al-Ali, Director of the Meteorological Department. Al-Ali told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the country is currently experiencing the effects of India’s seasonal depression, which is bringing in a hot, dry air mass and moderate to strong northwesterly winds. These conditions are causing widespread dust and significantly reduced visibility, especially in open areas.
Wind speeds are forecast to range from 25 to 50 kilometers per hour, pushing sea waves above six feet. The winds are expected to intensify further on Tuesday and Wednesday, reaching speeds between 35 and 65 kilometers per hour. As a result, horizontal visibility could drop below 1,000 meters and may disappear entirely in some exposed regions. Daytime temperatures will remain extremely hot and dusty, with highs between 44°C and 46°C. Night-time temperatures are expected to stay warm, ranging from 30°C to 33°C. Dust is likely to settle gradually during the evenings. Al-Ali noted that conditions should begin to improve and winds will ease starting Thursday evening, bringing some relief to residents after several days of challenging weather
