KUWAIT CITY, June 3: Air Cargo customs men recently foiled an attempt by an unidentified person to smuggle one kilo of ‘pure’ hashish into the country, reports Annahar daily. The daily added, the contraband was hidden in a parcel of clothes which arrived from Canada.

According to customs sources the hashish was covered in a silver foil. The hashish has been referred to the concerned authorities. The daily did not give more details.

Meanwhile, acting on information firemen rushed to Al-Shuhada Fire Center and put out the fire to a car which was parked in Rawdah, reports Al-Anba daily. As soon as the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received the call, firemen rushed to the site and put out the fire before it spread to surrounding areas. The firemen said a gallon filled with petrol was found near the car. The cause of the fire is not known. Police are investigating, however, arson is not ruled out. In the meantime, personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints.
