KUWAIT CITY, Aug 5: Directors of Drug Control General Departments in the GCC stressed, in a meeting held recently in Qatar, the need to protect Gulf countries and their citizens from drugs, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.
Sources pointed out that drug mafias and terrorists are targeting GCC countries to harm the youths and take the advantage of the situation to carry out terrorist operations.
Sources explained the meeting is line with the latest arrest of drug traders and smugglers in several GCC countries. Sources confirmed the GCC countries have agreed on the formation a joint team to confront drug mafias. Sources added the team will begin its work immediately to pursue drug traders and smugglers.
