KUWAIT CITY, Sept 19: Kuwait’s Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, alongside Undersecretary Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, recently held a ceremony to honor Dr. Ramesh Kumar Pandita, a distinguished consultant in blood tumors, as he concludes his service in Kuwait after over three decades.

Dr. Pandita, who has been a pivotal figure in the Hematology Department at the Kuwait Cancer Control Center for 32 years, is renowned for his dedication to treating blood cancer patients, particularly those with leukemia and myeloma. Originally from India, Dr. Pandita has also played a significant role in training Kuwaiti doctors and specialists through collaborations with the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialization. His efforts have significantly contributed to enhancing local medical expertise in the field of hematology.

In addition to his contributions to medical education and training, Dr. Pandita has been actively involved in research and has represented the Kuwait Cancer Control Center at numerous international and global forums focused on blood tumors. His work has set a benchmark for dealing with these diseases at both scientific and clinical levels.

The Ministry of Health also highlighted Dr. Pandita’s remarkable commitment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
