Double podium for Kuwait as Al-Ajmi wins gold in Qatar

DOHA, June 22, (KUNA):  Kuwaiti shooter Hussein Al-Ajmi claimed first place in the third Gulf Traditional Archery Championship, which concluded in the Qatari capital.

Fellow Kuwaiti shooter Issa Al-Kandari also secured a podium finish, taking third place in the same event. The championship, held at the Simaisma and Al-Dha'ayen Youth Centers, featured 60 participants from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and was one of the main sporting events of Gulf Youth Day 2025.

Expressing his joy, Al-Ajmi said he was honored to achieve first place in a competition that reflects the heritage and values of Gulf society. He stressed the importance of participating in such regional championships, which help build competitive spirit, foster athletic development, and provide valuable experience for upcoming tournaments.

Al-Ajmi also extended his sincere appreciation to the State of Qatar for its warm hospitality and successful organization of the championship.
