KUWAIT CITY, Oct 16: As part of its digital transformation efforts and to decrease reliance on paper documents in government transactions, the government has initiated a new project aimed at linking 20 government agencies through a unified digital platform for data exchange, reported Al-Qabas newspaper.
An informed source revealed that this platform facilitates data sharing among government agencies, enhancing their production efficiency and improving public services. With this central system, government agencies will no longer require reviewers to submit paper copies of documents for verification; instead, verification will occur directly through the system with the respective data-issuing agencies. The source emphasized that this project will enhance the ability of agencies to provide integrated services from start to finish and equip them with necessary tools and unified data, ensuring safe and effective data exchange.
The source further explained that the project, which connects 20 government agencies on a unified platform, will help reduce the time needed to complete transactions, with most services for the public being finalized within a single day.
Additionally, the project aims to minimize the use of paper and attachments, which will lead to a decrease in errors during transactions, lower risks, and enhance protection and security by 80%. It is also expected to boost citizen and resident satisfaction with services by 60%. The source noted that the platform will enable the provision of integrated services without requiring users to visit different parties for document verification or to complete incomplete data, thereby alleviating burdens and congestion at service centers.
A budget of approximately 1.6 million dinars has been allocated for this project.
Five government steps:
1. Accelerating the digitization of services
2. Reducing the document cycle
3. Enhancing transaction speed
4. Developing services in various regions
5. Ensuring data and information protection
