DGCA SAYS NO TRUTH IN RUMOR AIRPORT TO CLOSE FOR 2 WEEKS

KUWAIT CITY, March 10: The Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) says, there is no truth to the rumors of closing Kuwait International Airport for two weeks from Thursday.

Kuwait’s Consular General in New York Hamad Al-Hazeem on Tuesday urged citizens to follow the health authorities’ instructions by avoiding crowded places and public transportation after Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the State. He said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that New York authorities are working in coordination with centers for disease control and prevention (CDC) to control the outbreak.

The number of coronavirus cases in New York rose to 142, as some schools may be closed in some provinces and a number of important events have been canceled, he added.

He stressed that the Kuwaiti consulate general is ready for answering questions of citizens as it operates 24 hours, with nationals could call the consulate at: +1-917-242-6688.
