EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey, Aug 12: Pop star Demi Lovato reunited with ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas on stage for a surprise performance of songs from the beloved Disney Channel film Camp Rock, thrilling fans during the Jonas Brothers' 20th anniversary tour kickoff.

The highly anticipated JONAS20 tour began Sunday night at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where brothers Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas celebrated two decades of musical success. Midway through the show, the trio reflected on their breakout roles in the 2008 Disney movie Camp Rock — a moment that took an emotional turn when they brought out Lovato as a special guest.

Lovato, who portrayed Mitchie Torres in the film — the on-screen love interest of Joe Jonas's character — joined Jonas on stage to perform two iconic songs from the Camp Rock franchise: This Is Me and Wouldn’t Change a Thing. The surprise reunion was met with roaring applause from the audience and quickly went viral on social media.

In addition to the live performance, Lovato and Jonas posted a playful clip online, lip-syncing a viral moment from former Disney star Debby Ryan. In the video, Ryan dramatically recalls her ambition to “make history” during a meeting with Disney executives.

“For the history books @joejonas,” Lovato captioned the post.

The two singers had a brief romantic relationship following the success of Camp Rock, making the reunion all the more nostalgic for longtime fans. Lovato is now married to musician Jordan “Jutes” Lutes, while Jonas finalized his divorce from actress Sophie Turner in 2024.

The surprise appearance added a heartfelt and nostalgic highlight to the Jonas Brothers’ milestone tour, celebrating their enduring connection with fans who have followed their journey since the Disney Channel days.
