Degree Verification — Kuwaitis and Expats Warned to Meet Deadline

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 12: The Ministry of Education (MoE) has started the second phase of the inventory of employees’ academic certificates above the high school level. This confirms the completion of the first phase of the inventory of academic certificates of employees -- both citizens and expatriates. It is in response to the request of the Educational Certificate Examination Committee to inventory the certificates of all employees in government agencies and the private sector. In a press statement, the ministry clarified that this phase includes all employees (Kuwaitis and non-Kuwaitis) who obtained their academic qualifications from Jan 1, 2000 onwards; those who did not submit their certificates during the first phase; those who obtained new qualifications; and the newly appointed employees.

Acting Undersecretary of the ministry Mohammad Al-Khalidi issued a general circular urging the employees to access the official website of the ministry, specifically the ‘Administrative Services’ icon – ‘My Academic Certificates’ and upload a photocopy of the academic qualification and equivalency issued by the Ministry of Higher Education. He said his should be done within a period not exceeding one month from the date of the issuance of the circular for administrators, and until Sept 30 for the teaching and administrative staff in schools.

The Ministry of Education explained that the steps for uploading documents are as follows: log into the e-services, click ‘My Academic Certificates’, ‘Add Academic Certificates’, ‘Questions about Academic Certificates’, and then select the attachment to be uploaded in PDF format. At the same time, it stressed the need to adhere to the deadlines to avoid disciplinary action that may be taken by the relevant authorities. It added that employees who previously uploaded their academic certificates can verify if they are in the system by following the same steps outlined above to ensure that the data are correct and up-to-date.
