KUWAIT CITY, Dec 3: In a case of its kind related to the transfer of vehicles owned by deceased people, the family members of a deceased individual submitted a report to the Public Prosecution demanding that those who transferred the ownership of vehicles of the deceased be held accountable after they found that the vehicles in question were not under the name of the deceased.
Representing the family members was Lawyer Mustafa Mulla Yousef, who explained to the Public Prosecutor that his clients, days after the death of their loved one, were surprised that his vehicles were no longer registered under his name after the issuance of his property data, but were transferred to the names of others. They therefore urged it to summon those responsible and take legal measures against them.
Lawyer Yousef stressed that this case is not the first of its kind, adding, “We heard that there are dead people whose names were used in the elections of one of the unions. This case is also still pending with the judiciary.” He said, “If the accused are discovered, they must serve as a deterrent for others. At the same time, we appeal to the employees who refuse to carry out these transactions, even if the owners of those vehicles are the people closest to them. This is because it will lead to their imprisonment, and there is nothing better than favoritism apart from protecting oneself from restricting their freedom and putting them in prison.”
