He stressed that bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and Kuwait are exceptional and are witnessing continuous development, adding that the two countries are working together to strengthen cooperation in various fields. He lauded the role of Kuwait in supporting dialogue and regional stability, pointing out that the joint meeting provided an important platform for discussing regional and international issues like the Russian war on Ukraine, the humanitarian situation in Gaza, and other issues related to Iran and Iraq. He revealed that “the two sides’ views on many of these issues converge.” Talking about the free trade agreement between the GCC and EU, he said the Czech Republic is one of the countries supporting the idea of expediting the signing and implementation of the agreement. He stressed that his country strongly believes in the principle of free trade, given its reliance on economic openness as a landlocked country. He also confirmed the Czech Republic’s support for the ongoing discussions on exempting Kuwaiti citizens from the entry visa to the EU (Schengen), asserting that his country believes that freedom of movement contributes to strengthening ties between peoples and enhancing mutual cooperation.
On the Palestinian issue, he affirmed the continuous commitment of his country to support the two-state solution as the fundamental option for achieving a just and lasting peace, expressing his hope for tangible progress on this path. He lauded the prominent humanitarian role that Kuwait plays at the regional and international levels, highlighting the potential for expanding cooperation between the two countries in the humanitarian field, particularly in addressing humanitarian crises in the Middle East and Africa. He added that the meetings held in Kuwait over the past two days were extremely fruitful, and contributed to unifying visions and strengthening the partnership between EU and GCC.
