KUWAIT CITY, Nov 22, (Agencies): The Criminal Court presided over by Counselor Ahmed Al-Saddi, recently confronted a 43-year-old individual facing charges related to drug abuse. The accused, seeking clemency, claimed, "I'm 16 years old, currently in prison, and I admit to using heroin. I implore God and, in turn, you for forgiveness."

Kuwait court.

The court listed the accusations: "You are charged with heroin use." The accused responded affirmatively. "You are accused of using psychotropic substances." Again, the accused admitted guilt. "You are accused of stealing a vehicle while in an abnormal state." The accused justified, "Yes, the vehicle was stolen, and I believed it was mine."

Further charges were addressed: "You caused an accident while driving the stolen vehicle at an excessive speed." Tearfully, the accused confessed, "Yes, Your Honor. I confess to everything. I beseech God and you for mercy. Since I was 16 and imprisoned for theft, my entire life has been spent behind bars. After my initial imprisonment, I faced another theft case. Subsequently, I fell into drug abuse, and I genuinely repent. However, I have no one to help me."

The accused composed himself, explaining, "I am the eldest among my siblings, and there is no one to assist me. I've repented, and I seek your help, Your Honor. By God, my life has been marked by imprisonment, serving multiple life sentences since the age of 16. I initiated a life of thefts, progressed into drug abuse, and now, at 43, I yearn to spend the remainder of my days with my family."

Upon discovering the accused lacked legal representation, the court decided to appoint a lawyer for further review of the case file.
