KUWAIT CITY, Jun 21:The Ministry of Interior has intensified its efforts to combat drug smuggling, working in close collaboration with relevant security authorities to apprehend those who traffic in illegal substances and protect society from this devastating menace.

In a recent operation, the General Department of Narcotics Control, in cooperation with the General Administration of the Coast Guard, successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle approximately 40 kilograms of narcotic cannabis and 2,000 Captagon tablets via sea. Two individuals involved in the smuggling operation were arrested and are being referred to the Public Prosecution, where the competent authority will take all necessary legal measures against them.

The Ministry of Interior emphasizes that its security personnel remain vigilant in confronting drug dealers and smugglers to safeguard society from these dangerous threats. The Ministry urges the public to cooperate with security forces and report any suspicious activities by calling the emergency phone number (112) or the General Administration for Narcotics Control hotline at 1884141.
