KUWAIT CITY, Jan 9: Kuwait's Ministry of Health (MoH) registered on Sunday 2,999 additional COVID-19 cases over a 24-hour span, increasing the total number of infections to 433,919, while zero fatalities were recorded, keeping the death toll at 2,471. There were 388 fresh recovery cases, increasing the total to 413,697 cured people so far, as recoveries represent 95.3 percent of the overall infections, MoH's Spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told KUNA. Active cases amounted to 17,751 with 14 of them in intensive care units, and 87 patients at hospital wards, he said. Health authorities conducted 32,973 swab tests to a total of 6,199,651, which meant that 9.1 percent of swab tests performed in 24 hours were infections, he revealed.
