KUWAIT CITY, March 18: The Court of Appeals presided over by Judge Abdullah Al-Othman overturned a lower court verdict by which a person accused of selling drugs was sentenced in absentia to 15 years imprisonment with KD 10,000 fine. The court instead acquitted the suspect of all charges against him.
Representing the accused, Attorney Ahmad Al-Hamadi appealed the lower court verdict and argued that charges leveled against his client are irrational, given that the prosecution could not present any substantial evidence to back the testimony of the arresting officer or proof that his client committed any crime
