KUWAIT CITY, May 1: The Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church in Kuwait, joined its counterparts all over the world, in celebrating Easter. A huge number of Coptic Christians in Kuwait attended the Easter Mass on Sunday. In his speech on behalf of Egyptian President Abdul Fattah el-Sisi, Ambassador of Egypt to Kuwait Yasser Atef conveyed the president’s admiration for the Egyptian community wherever they are, as they maintain harmonious relations and solidarity despite their differences. Atef congratulated the Coptic Egyptians as they celebrated the glorified history of Jesus (Peace be Upon Him) and His virgin mother Mary.

He pointed out the fact that love for the nation brings together all Egyptians, irrespective of their religions, is one of the secrets behind the glorious history of Egypt. He affirmed Egypt is proud of its people and it is keen on ensuring that its social texture — including Muslims and Christians — remain strong. On the other hand, Patron of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Kuwait Archbishop Anba Bishoy Bigol expressed his gratitude and appreciation to HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, whom he described him as “the humanitarian leader and wise man among Arabs”, for the care he gives to the Egyptian community in the country, among them the Coptic Christians. Archbishop Bigol also extended his gratitude and appreciation to HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and everyone who sent congratulatory messages to the church on the occasion of Easter.

In his sermon, Archbishop Bigol said, “Blessed is the human being who lives virtuously and set forth good deeds that serve everyone without exception or discrimination. All good deeds or offerings, whether material or kind, given by mankind to any needy person will be recorded for the day of questioning.”
