Cops squabble over use of ‘wasta’

KUWAIT CITY, April 8: An unidentified police officer has filed a complaint with the police accusing another policeman of preventing him from doing his duty, reports Al-Rai daily

This happened when the officer ordered a motorist to pull over and demanded to see his license and confiscated it. Another person who was in the passenger seat, who turned out to be an employee of the Ministry of Interior asked the officer to return the license and the former refused and insisted on applying the law.

At this the man in the passenger seat got annoyed and verbally abused the officer. The motorist is believed to be a citizen of a GCC country and also works in one of the security agencies
