KUWAIT CITY, Dec 25: The Kuwait Municipality will soon coordinate with the ministries of Social Affairs and Labor, and the Interior to shut down unlicensed branches of charitable societies and nurseries in private residential areas, starting from January 2016, reports Al-Qabas daily.

A source said acting Director General of the Municipality Eng Ahmad Al- Manfouhi recently chaired a consultative meeting to discuss issues regarding closure of unlicensed branches of charitable societies and erring nurseries.

Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Undersecretary Dr Matar Al-Mutairi and several other concerned officials attended the meeting. The source clarified the Municipality allows opening of branches for charitable societies and donor agencies in investment areas only. He added the branches should conduct activities for which the license is granted on the first and second floors, saying the issue will be referred to the Municipal Council for approval.
