Consumers’ right to inspect goods explained: Ministry issues clarification

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 11: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued a clarification regarding the inspection of goods before receipt, as outlined in Article 13, Clause 11 of Ministerial Resolution No. 216/2014. The Ministry stated that consumers have the right to inspect and examine goods before accepting them, particularly if the company does not offer the same product for display.

It explained that this right is part of commercial customs, allowing consumers to check the product's exterior or ensure its safety. However, this does not include opening the packaging in a way that could cause damage or affect the product's quality. The Ministry also noted that the rule does not apply to perishable goods.
