KUWAIT CITY, Aug 29: Municipal Council member Walid Al-Dagher on Tuesday submitted questions to the Kuwait Municipality regarding the telecommunication towers, reports Al-Seyassah daily. In his letter to the Municipality, Al-Dagher asked about the legal basis for allowing telecommunication companies to install their towers on real estate and State properties. He wanted to know the health impact of telecommunication towers on real estate properties or near residential areas.

He inquired: What is the legal basis for licensing telecommunication companies to install their towers on real estate properties in private residential areas and State properties? How many such licenses have been issued to telecommunication companies? How many violations were recorded against telecommunication companies for installing their towers on the aforementioned properties? What are the harmful effects of these towers to one’s health and other damages? He concluded his letter by emphasizing the need for the Municipality to respond to the questions of council members within the specified period of two months.
