Committee formed to revise private health facility licensing in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 23: Chairman of the Kuwait Medical Association Dr. Ibrahim Al-Tawala announced the formation of a committee with a number of specialized doctors from the private medical sector to develop proposed amendments to the new regulations for the requirements and controls that must be in place for licensing private health facilities in preparation for submitting recommendations to the Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

He said this in a press statement issued on the sidelines of the discussion session organized by the Kuwait Medical Association on the new regulations for the requirements and controls that must be in place for licensing private health facilities.

Dr. Al-Tawala highlighted the coordination and cooperation between the association and the Ministry of Health to discuss the necessary amendments to the regulations to make it easier for doctors working in the private medical sector.

He stated that the discussion panel touched on many important points and obstacles facing doctors in the new regulations. It was agreed to write down all claims and amendments and discuss them in the committee that will be formed at the beginning of next week to submit recommendations as soon as possible to the Minister of Health.

Dr. Al-Tawala stressed that the Kuwait Medical Association confirms its full commitment to defending the interests of doctors working in the private medical sector, and its support to enhance the spirit of fair competition between them and the major medical companies.
