KUWAIT CITY, April 8: Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passports Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Major-General Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah said 1,000 Kuwaitis stand to lose their citizenship if it is proved they were naturalized on the strength of forged documents or through fraudulent means, reports Al-Rai daily.

He went on to say the next few days will disclose the names of those people who were naturalized on the strength of forged documents.

Al-Jarrah told the daily the citizenship files of those who have been naturalized will be subjected to be put under the microscope, especially as Kuwait begins to issue the e-passports and discovery of frauds will be easy to detect. He paid tributes to the employees of the General Directorate of Nationality and Management for Research and Investigation.
