China’s outgoing envoy praises Kuwait relations, hails joint project progress
H.E. Zhang Jianwei Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, May 26: Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Zhang Jianwei said Saturday that his diplomatic experience in Kuwait was valuable and wonderful; indicating “I will never forget it, as it was my first experience as my country’s ambassador abroad.” Regarding the appointment of the new Chinese ambassador to Kuwait, he said the appointment has not been made yet, asserting that the new ambassador will be distinguished and contribute to advancing relations between the two countries. He emphasized that the past three years have witnessed significant cooperation between China and Kuwait; noting the support he received from Kuwaiti government agencies that helped him strengthen and develop bilateral relations, which he described as a “strategic partnership.”

He expressed appreciation and gratitude to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti government, and all his colleagues for the strong interest and support they have shown him; enabling him to carry out his duties successfully. He stated that relations between the two countries have witnessed significant development, thanks to the care and guidance of the leadership of both countries -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al- Ahmad and Chinese President Xi Jinping, affirming the remarkable achievements made under this patronage. He explained that during his tenure in Kuwait, he focused on implementing the agreements signed during His Highness the Amir’s visit to China.

He added that “over the past three years, I have had deep, beautiful and unforgettable impressions; especially since I met friends from various segments of society, including political leaders, ministers and media professionals who contributed to supporting our work and strengthening relations between the two countries.” He expressed his pride in the progress made in the joint projects, stressing that they had not encountered any significant problems. He called for continued cooperation, especially regarding Mubarak Port and other major projects. He said “there are important projects that have been launched excellently, thanks to our joint efforts. I am optimistic about a promising future between our two friendly countries. I believe that my country’s embassy will do everything in its power to strengthen cooperation with Kuwait.” He concluded “I will leave Kuwait with a great love for its people and culture, and I will miss it.” During my visits to the diwaniyas, I witnessed the Kuwaiti people’s love for Chinese culture and their eagerness to travel to Chinese cities. We always welcome Kuwaiti tourists to our country.”
