China approves first COVID-19 vaccine and market licensing

KUWAIT, Dec 31 (KUNA) — China approved on Thursday the licensing of its first COVID-19 vaccine in the market, developed by Beutik Hygiene Noble India Private Limited, which is associated with the state owned China National Pharmaceuticals Group Co., Ltd. (Sinopharm).


A press statement by China’s National Medical Products Administration said, via Shingho News Agency, the vaccine is the first antidote developed to battle the COVID-19 spread, which is been approved, clarifying that this approval came following the results of the third stage of testing which showed 79.34 percent effectiveness rate after administering two dosages.
Also pointing that the results have been acknowledged by the technical support teams of WHO and associated organizations linked, as well as being accepted by Chinese authorities representing the distribution of health products.


“The Vaccine will be free of charge to all Chinese citizens,” added the statement.Sinophram announced on Wednesday its approval of the COVID-19 vaccine with a 79.34 percent efficiency rate and asked Chinese authorities for general use and distribution on the public.
