NEW YORK, Oct 25: Pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen, known for her hit “Call Me Maybe,” married music producer Cole M.G.N. (real name Cole Marsden Greif-Neill) on Oct. 4 in an intimate ceremony at the historic Chelsea Hotel in New York City, her representatives and social media posts confirmed.
The couple, who announced their engagement on Sept. 23, 2024, exchanged vows in the Chelsea Hotel’s Bard Room before approximately 100 guests, according to Vogue. Jepsen described the venue as “a home away from home” and praised its iconic artistic history, noting that its legacy made it particularly meaningful for the pair.
“For planning, we had weekly dates to talk out all the details of the wedding. This way it was only ever fun and not too much at once,” Jepsen said.
For the ceremony, Jepsen wore a strapless corseted dress with a draped skirt by Australian designer Toni Maticevski, later changing into an ethereal tiered reception gown by Danielle Frankel. She accessorized both looks with pearl earrings crafted by her mother, Alexandra Lanzarott, noting her preference for a more flowy dress suitable for dancing and planning to start a family.
The wedding featured a surprise performance by Rufus Wainwright, who delivered an a cappella rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Chelsea Hotel #2,” which Jepsen called “a once-in-a-lifetime New York moment.”
Jepsen first revealed her engagement to Cole M.G.N. on Instagram in September 2024, sharing photos of her dark gemstone gold-band ring and snapshots of the couple enjoying time together in nature.
The singer described the origins of their relationship while collaborating on her 2023 album The Loveliest Time, saying their professional partnership gradually turned romantic. She noted that their song “So Right” was inspired by their “meet-cute,” including a playful skit reflecting their initial hesitation about spending time together after hours.
“You have to get to a certain level of comfort with somebody before you can get to those really playful, joyful, experimental places,” Jepsen said about their dynamic. The couple often travels together, bringing instruments and collaborating on music projects.
Since forming their relationship, Jepsen and Cole have shared public displays of support on social media, including posts celebrating birthdays and dancing in the streets. In July, Jepsen teased their wedding preparations with photos of mini cakes and her engagement ring, followed by bachelorette celebrations with friends in August.
The couple’s wedding underscores their shared artistic journey and highlights Jepsen’s blend of personal and professional life, merging music, love, and creativity in New York City’s iconic Chelsea Hotel.
