KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25: The Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) has rejected the request of Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) to award a tender for the information technology support center, leasing services and technical support for computers, laptops, peripheral devices and their accessories to a company that offered the lowest price – KD8.27 million for a period of five years and seven months, reports Al- Rai daily quoting sources.
Sources disclosed the reason behind such a decision is the lowest bidder’s violation of the terms and conditions of the tender. Sources confirmed there has been a request to study the other bids and submit recommendations to the agency, which demanded for three-month extension of initial insurance for all bidding companies. Sources added the agency also rejected the request of Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) to issue the first change order to reduce by KD2.433 million or 25.01 percent the value of the tender for the supply of pipelines for developmental drilling by deleting items 4, 5, 6 and 7 due to the supplier’s inability to deliver the required materials.
