Campaign champions Kuwait delivery drivers' rights

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 24: The National Diwan for Human Rights concluded its occupational safety campaign for delivery drivers recently, under the patronage and in the presence of Minister Plenipotentiary Anas Al-Shaheen, Chair of the three-member Committee for the Diwan’s Affairs, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The campaign aimed at raising awareness about drivers’ occupational rights in cooperation with the General Traffic Department at the Ministry of Interior and the Occupational Health Sector at the Ministry of Health

The campaign, held for an estimated 40,000 drivers, which is approximately one percent of Kuwait’s population, yielded positive results, including increased driver compliance with safety measures and greater responsiveness from companies. The ceremony was attended by several ambassadors accredited to Kuwait, representatives of countries with direct ties to the workers and delivery drivers participating in the campaign, as well as officials from the Consular Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Head of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
