Call to suspend ban on smoking ‘shisha’

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 18: The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has requested the Municipal Council to suspend the implementation of the decision to prohibit ‘shisha’ in closed areas on grounds that it contravenes Article 56 of the Environment Protection Law number 42/2014 banning smoking inside vehicles, as well as closed and semi-closed areas except the allocated smoking areas, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Members have stressed the need to coordinate with other concerned bodies before issuing decisions, such that the council must refer the letter of EPA to the Legal Department to prepare a report in this regard.
