Call to ‘slash’ number of cleaners, security guards

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 2: The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) presented a mechanism to reduce the number of cleaners and security guards in governmental bodies by 25 percent during its meeting with the concerned authorities recently, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources. Sources disclosed the mechanism is to reduce the percentage of the above mentioned manpower whenever a new contract is signed with any governmental body or during renewal of contracts. Sources clarified the decision will not be applied on contracts which have yet to expire.

A team consisting of many governmental bodies has been formed to classify hotels and resorts, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources. Sources revealed the team will visit hotels and resorts this month and then classify them accordingly. Sources said the Hotels Committee received 15 applications to classify, reclassify and unclassify structures and the decision will be finalized in the next few days.

The Public Relations Department in Kuwait Municipality urged the public to call hotline number 139 or log on to its social networking accounts in case there are complaints about the Municipality’s work, reports Al-Qabas daily
