Cabinet okays draft law to adjourn Assembly session

KUWAIT CITY, July 31: Kuwait’s Cabinet on Monday approved a draft law to adjourn the ordinary session of the National Assembly’s 17th legislative term after the conclusion of the forthcoming session of parliament. The draft law has been referred to His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, pending approval, the government’s communication center said on its social media platforms

Meanwhile, the National Assembly will hold a special session Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss a draft of establishing a general commission for elections, in addition to presenting the state’s financial status. The agenda of the special session includes discussing the state’s financial status in accordance with the text of Article (150) of the Constitution in addition to four reports of the Budgets and Parliamentary Calculation Committee. It also includes a report of the Budgets Committee and the Parliamentary Final Account on a draft law linking the budget of ministries and government departments for the fiscal year (2024/2023) and the Minister of Finance’s statement on the economic, financial and monetary conditions for the fiscal year (2024/2023).
