KUWAIT CITY Oct 10: The Burgan Club's volleyball team continued their impressive run in the Al-Ittihad tournament, securing their second consecutive victory. They defeated Al-Kuwait in a convincing fashion, winning all three sets with scores of 25-22, 25-22, 25-22. This thrilling match took place at the Al-Ittihad Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex during the third round of the tournament.
In the remaining matches of the round, Al-Shabab dominated Al-Tadamon with a 3-0 win, achieving set scores of 25-8, 25-15, 25-22, while Kazma also secured a 3-0 victory against their opponent, Yarmouk, with set scores of 25-10, 25-21, 25-21. Additionally, Al-Arabi emerged victorious over Al-Sahel in a hard-fought contest, clinching three sets to one with set scores of 25-16, 23-25, 25-13, 25-13.
As a result, the Union Championship team standings were as follows: Kazma led the standings with 9 points, followed by Al-Qadsia, who missed this round, with 6 points. Burgan held the third position, followed by Al-Shabab in fourth and Al-Arabi in fifth place. Meanwhile, Al-Kuwait had 3 points, and Yarmouk, Al-Sahel, and Al-Tadamon remained without a score.
On a different note, Kuwaiti-Iranian volleyball professional Saber Kazemi returned to Kuwait after representing the Iranian national team in the Asian Games held in China, where he helped his team secure the top spot. He received a warm welcome from Mosleh Al-Rashidi, the director of Kuwait Club's volleyball department.
