SEOUL, South Korea, Nov 30, (Agencies): A recent report indicates that four members of the K-pop sensation BTS are set to begin their military service over a two-day span in the second week of December. RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook will be enlisting as active-duty soldiers.

The enlistment plan involves RM and V entering the army training center on Dec 11, followed by Jimin and Jungkook joining the same training camp on Dec 12. After completing their training and being deployed to their respective army units, the four members will serve as active-duty soldiers for a duration of 18 months.

Big Hit Music, responding to the report, stated to Korean media that the specific enlistment schedule and location for the members cannot be confirmed. Jungkook had previously announced his military enlistment in December through a heartfelt message on the Weverse app.

If RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook indeed enlist together in the second week of December, their anticipated discharge would be in June 2025. This aligns with BTS’s goal to regroup in 2025. The mentioned four members are the remaining BTS members who have yet to commence their military service.

Providing context on other members’ enlistment statuses, Jin, the eldest member, began his service on Dec 13, 2022, and is scheduled to be discharged on June 12, 2024. J-Hope initiated his military duty on April 18 this year and is expected to conclude on Oct 17, 2024. Suga, who enlisted on Sept 22 this year, will serve for 21 months as a social worker or public duty personnel, an alternative form of military service, with a discharge date set for June 21, 2025.
