SEOUL, South Korea, Nov 23, (Agencies): BTS' youngest member, Jungkook, revealed his upcoming enlistment in the military scheduled for December.

As part of their mandatory military service, RM, Jimin, Jungkook, and V from BTS, under the management of Big Hit Music, have initiated the process by applying to cancel the privilege allowing them to postpone their service until age 30. Meanwhile, Jin, J-Hope, and Suga are currently fulfilling their military duties.

In a heartfelt post on the Weverse app, 26-year-old Jungkook shared the news with the BTS ARMY, expressing a mix of emotions. "I am beginning a new journey in December and will be temporarily leaving your side to fulfill my military duty. A part of my heart feels heavy to share this news, while another part of my heart warms to think back on the precious memories I had with ARMY," said Jungkook.

Acknowledging the support of the fans, he continued, "Every moment of life that I shared with you had been the brightest moment of my life. ARMY's laughter, support, and love have led me here to where I am now. Thank you so much for taking this road with me."

Expressing caution about the wait, Jungkook promised, "I do feel cautious about asking you to wait while I serve. A year and six months is a long time, so I will not say anything selfish, but I only promise you that I will take the stage again when I'm back — where I always was, but grown up even more."

Concluding with a heartfelt message, he said, "I will miss you in the deepest of my hearts until the day we meet again and share our stories. Stay healthy and stay safe. I love you."

BTS members have been pursuing individual projects since last year in anticipation of their military service. The group aims to reunite in 2025 after fulfilling their mandatory duties.
