LOS ANGELES, Nov 5, (Agencies): Bruce Springsteen: Rocking Strong and Ready for the Road!
At 74 years of age, legendary singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen is proving to be as tough as ever. Even as he recovers from peptic ulcer disease, his bandmate from the E Street Band, Steven Van Zandt, shared that he's in fantastic shape. This exciting update came during the 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Friday.
The iconic 72-year-old guitarist expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming road adventures with Springsteen and the rest of the legendary backing band. He confidently declared, "We're gearing up for a powerful comeback in March."
Reflecting on their previous tour, Van Zandt remarked, "It was an incredibly intense first six months, perhaps the most intense we've ever had." He continued, "So, when we return, we'll bring that same level of intensity, and it's going to be extraordinary."
Van Zandt highlighted the enduring intensity and passion that Springsteen and the E Street Band bring to the stage, calling it a "wonderful" experience. He shared, "Considering we were away for seven years, we weren't entirely certain about what would happen. It could have been a case of 'E Street who?'"
"But we made a triumphant return in terms of both the business and the enthusiasm of our fans," the E Street Band icon noted. "Every show sold out in an instant. It was an incredible surprise and a testament to our dedication to our craft."
He went on to emphasize the importance of honing their musical craft over the years. "We've invested so much time perfecting our art, and Bruce's songs continue to resonate brilliantly," he explained.
Van Zandt wrapped up by drawing attention to the recent releases from other iconic bands, stating, "Look at what's happening in the past two weeks – a new Rolling Stones record and a new Beatles record. It demonstrates that artists who master their craft tend to have enduring success."
This update on Springsteen's health follows his announcement in late September that he was undergoing treatment for peptic ulcer disease, leading to the postponement of the remainder of his 2023 tour dates. Despite the health challenges, Springsteen and the E Street Band are ready to bring their iconic music back to audiences, demonstrating that they are as strong and resilient as ever.
