KUWAIT CITY, June 29: Boursa Kuwait concluded Sunday’s trading session with notable gains across major indices, despite a slight decline in the main market index. The general index surged by 145.11 points, or 1.75 percent, to settle at 8,438.48 points. Trading activity remained brisk, with 759.1 million shares exchanged through 35,844 cash transactions, amounting to 162.6 million Kuwaiti dinars (approximately $531.6 million USD). In contrast, the main market index edged down by 5.98 points, or 0.08 percent, closing at 7,245.13 points. A total of 469.1 million shares were traded via 22,647 cash transactions, valued at 60 million dinars (about $196.1 million USD). The Premier Market Index outperformed, climbing 190 points, or 2.12 percent, to 9,153.22 points. This rally was supported by the trade of 290 million shares through 13,197 transactions, worth 102.5 million dinars (roughly $335.1 million USD). Meanwhile, the Major 50 index advanced by 103.39 points, or 1.45 percent, reaching 7,256.36 points. Traders exchanged 318 million shares via 13,353 cash transactions, totaling 40.2 million dinars (about $131.4 million USD).(KUNA)
