Customs inspectors at the Nuwaiseeb border caught a GCC citizen smuggling a huge quantity of cigarettes to make quick money by selling them in Saudi Arabia.
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 28: Customs officers at the Nuwaiseeb border post have foiled the attempt of a GCC citizen to smuggle 400 cartons of cigarettes hidden in his SUV, reports Al-Anba daily.During interrogation the man is said to have admitted to entering the country with the sole intention of smuggling cigarettes to sell them in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to make fast money.The suspect was caught because he looked nervous when he approached the inspection desk and this led the officers to search his vehicle. The cartons of cigarettes were found hidden in secret compartments of his SUV. The confiscated cigarettes are believed to be worth KD 3,750.
