Bid to ink deals – Kuwaiti delegation departs to Moscow

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 8, (KUNA): A Kuwaiti Justice Ministry delegation headed to Moscow on Saturday to discuss with Russian counterparts forming two mutual recognition of judicial decisions agreements on the extradition of criminals and imprisoned convicts.

The visit comes after ongoing discussions and legal observations exchanged between both sides for several years now, read a Kuwaiti ministry statement. The talks will aim to reach finally adopted documents that are acceptable to both sides, said the ministry.

Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti delegation headed by Undersecretary of Ministry of Justice Zakaria Al- Ansari held talks Sunday with officials of Russia’s Ministry of Justice to discuss judicial cooperation between the two countries.

The Kuwaiti delegation arrived in Russia on a three-day visit to discuss with officials the terms of the extradition agreement and other agreements between Kuwait and Russia, Al-Ansari said in a statement to KUNA. He also explained that both sides are keen on developing bilateral relations on the legal level, indicating that these negotiations were a culmination of previous efforts over the years of discussions between the ministries of both countries.
