Bedoun Arrested for Smashing Expat’s Car in Hawally

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 5: Detectives have successfully closed an investigation involving property damage and criminal threats after arresting a Bedoun who admitted to smashing an expatriate’s vehicle during a traffic dispute in the Hawally area.

According to security sources, the incident occurred last September at around 1:00 p.m., when the victim reported to the Hawally Police Station that an unknown individual driving a Japanese sedan had threatened him and damaged his vehicle following a heated altercation on the road.

The case was immediately referred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which launched an inquiry to identify the suspect. Through careful tracking and evidence gathering, detectives managed to locate and summon the perpetrator. During interrogation, the accused confessed to being involved in the dispute but initially denied causing major damage, claiming that he only threw a hammer toward the victim without intentionally smashing the front or side windows of the vehicle.

However, further investigation and eyewitness statements contradicted his claim. The inquiry revealed that after the altercation, the suspect exited his vehicle carrying an iron object (a hammer), approached the victim’s car, and attempted to pull open the driver’s door in an apparent effort to drag the victim out. When he failed, he struck the vehicle repeatedly, damaging both the front and side windows, before fleeing the scene.

Following his arrest, the suspect confessed to the act, and the case was officially closed after legal measures were initiated against him.
