Bangladeshi drug smuggler and the seized contraband

KUWAIT CITY, July 4: Police have arrested an unidentified Bangladeshi for attempting to smuggle 10,000 Tramadol pills into the country, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to the security sources the suspect, working for a mosque in Farwaniya as a cleaner, cleared the customs and was waiting for someone for about four hours outside the airport.

Plainclothes men watching the movements of the passenger suspected him and told the man that they want to check his baggage and to their surprise they found Tramadol pill hidden in baggage.

During interrogation he admitted to bringing the pills for sale. The man, who holds a valid visa, also admitted that it was the second time he smuggled drugs into the country.

He added, the first time he managed to hoodwink the customs authorities and the pills were sold with the help of a compatriot who shares the profit.

The security source said, according to the suspect the compatriot worked for the Anti -Narcotics Department and helped him to sell the drugs. The compatriot also has been arrested and put behind bars.
