Bahrain renews passports for citizens stripped of Kuwaiti nationality

MANAMA, Bahrain, Sept 17: Following a royal directive from King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Bahraini passports have been renewed for citizens who recently had their Kuwaiti nationality revoked, enabling them to travel freely and retain essential identification rights.

The Bahrain News Agency reported that the order aims to safeguard family unity and social cohesion amid uncertainty faced by those caught between citizenship laws. The government emphasized that this move reflects the king’s commitment to preserving national solidarity and supporting affected families.

This step comes as Kuwait continues its crackdown on citizenship forgeries, with nearly 50,000 individuals stripped of nationality in recent actions.

Officials described the decision as a humanitarian gesture, prioritizing family stability and national cohesion.
