MANAMA, June 22: Bahrain announced on Sunday that it has activated a remote work policy for 70% of employees in ministries and government institutions, citing regional tensions and ongoing developments.
In a statement released by the Civil Service Bureau and reported by the Bahrain News Agency, the authority said: “In light of current regional circumstances, it has been decided to implement a remote work system in ministries and government agencies, with 70% of employees working from home. This excludes sectors that require in-person attendance or operate under special protocols during emergencies, where physical presence is necessary for public safety.”
The directive takes effect immediately and will remain in place until further notice.
The announcement follows U.S. President Donald Trump's confirmation that American forces have targeted nuclear facilities in Iran.
