KUWAIT CITY, Oct 4: The Audit Bureau has revealed that previous auditing efforts conducted between April 1 and September 30 last year have resulted in significant savings for the public treasury, amounting to 7 million dinars, reports Al-Jarida daily.
The auditor in the preceding oversight division for social and health affairs at the Bureau, Marwa Al-Rashidi, provided details in a recent press release saying the AB addressed and rendered opinions on 1,793 issues totaling 2.53 billion dinars.
Al-Rashidi highlighted that about 85 percent of these issues were presented by ministries and government departments, valued at around 2.37 billion dinars.
Additionally, 10 percent of the presented issues came from entities with attached budgets totaling 89 million dinars, while 5 percent were from entities with independent budgets, amounting to approximately 68 million dinars.
Regarding the topics addressed, health-related issues held the highest frequency, totaling 762 with a cumulative value of 770 million dinars.
The Ministry of Health presented the most topics, accounting for 762 in total and approximately 770 million dinars in value. The Bureau rendered its opinion, encompassing approval, conditional approval, or renewal of approval, for 1,013 topics amounting to approximately 1.54 billion dinars.
Furthermore, the Bureau returned the paperwork for 595 subjects, valued at approximately 486 million dinars, due to non-compliance with the Audit Bureau's stipulated guidelines and regulations during submission. The Bureau also expressed disapproval for 47 issues, estimated at around 409 million dinars.
