‘Zoo to receive new animals very soon’

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 13: The director of the Kuwait Zoo Nasser Al-Attiyah said he visited the zoo on the first day of Eid Al-Adha which attracted 2,000 visitors, and said the atmosphere was calm but the numbers were less than expected due to high summer temperature, reports Al-Anba daily.

He added, there is a constant and continuous follow-up by workers who are ready for any emergency. He disclosed very soon new animals will arrive at the zoo and reassured the animals in general are in good health and in the event of any suspicious malady they are isolated from the public – if they are sick or look tired or are suspected of anything.

He said all the animals at the zoo are at the disposal of the visitors without exception saying, “we take care of the safety of animals and there are air-conditioned rooms for each, while others are housed in open cages and are taken out if and when the weather improves and if the temperatures are low. Of the large number of people visiting the park on occasions, including holidays, such as Eid Al-Adha, he said the zoo had changed the timings from 4 pm to 8 pm the first day and from 8 am to 12 pm and 4 pm to 8 pm the rest of the holidays and weekend.

The zoo also took all necessary measures to ensure the safety of visitors and ensure their comfort and spend the most beautiful times in hiking and touring with the intensification of security and safety throughout the park, by increasing the number of cleaners to ensure the cleanliness of the park continuously, and emphasize hygiene and not to leave dirt or waste around.
