KUWAIT CITY, May 7: Acting on orders from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Interior has imposed a travel ban and issued arrest warrants for two domestic workers accused of stealing valuables worth KD 20,000 from their employer’s home.
According to a security source, a Kuwaiti woman in her forties reported to Jahra police that she had discovered the sudden disappearance of her two domestic workers, who could not be reached as their phones were switched off. Upon checking her belongings, she claimed to have found luxury items missing, including designer handbags, a high-end watch valued at KD 3,000, bills of exchange, and expensive shoes, all amounting to KD 20,000. She insisted that she had no prior dispute with the workers and demanded swift action to prevent them from fleeing the country.
Authorities have stated that the accusations remain allegations pending investigation and apprehension of the suspects.
In a separate incident, a retired Kuwaiti citizen filed a complaint against his absconding Asian maid, accusing her of breaking into his bedroom and stealing cash and gold jewelry while he was away. The case, which occurred in the Farwaniya Governorate, has been forwarded to the investigations department to track down and arrest the suspect.
