KUWAIT CITY, Oct 30: As part of its intensified efforts to combat the growing menace of narcotics and safeguard society from their devastating effects, the Ministry of Interior, through the General Department for Drug Control, successfully apprehended an Asian resident in the Mangaf area found in possession of a substantial quantity of illegal drugs intended for trafficking.

According to the Ministry, the operation led to the seizure of six kilograms of pure heroin and four kilograms of pure methamphetamine, along with two digital scales used for weighing the substances. The estimated market value of the seized drugs is approximately 170,000 Kuwaiti dinars.

Investigations revealed that the accused had been receiving instructions from criminal contacts abroad and was operating using a sophisticated trafficking method. He reportedly used location-sharing services on a social media application to determine drop-off and pickup points for the narcotics, thereby attempting to evade detection by security authorities.

The suspect and the confiscated materials have been referred to the competent authorities for the necessary legal procedures.

The Ministry of Interior reiterated its firm commitment to intensifying field operations to eradicate the drug menace and prevent its spread within the country. It also urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and promptly report any suspicious or illegal activities through official and approved communication channels.
