Arab Expat Arrested in Farwaniya After Assaulting Security Officers, Narcotics Found in Vehicle

KUWAIT CITY, Jun 17: Security authorities have arrested an Arab expatriate in Farwaniya after he allegedly assaulted security personnel and attempted to flee during an inspection, with narcotics and drug-related paraphernalia later found in his possession.

According to a security source, a Farwaniya security patrol spotted a vehicle during a routine patrol whose driver appeared to be under the influence of drugs. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect allegedly resisted arrest, assaulted the security personnel and sped away in an attempt to escape.

A pursuit followed, resulting in the suspect's arrest. During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered narcotic substances and drug-use equipment.

The suspect was referred to the General Department for Drug Control after a case was registered against him on charges of assaulting security officers and attempting to flee.

Authorities said the suspect will undergo further investigation to determine the source of the narcotics and whether they were intended for trafficking or personal use. Following the completion of investigations, the case will be referred to the Public Prosecution for legal action.

Security authorities reiterated their commitment to combating drug-related crimes and taking firm action against individuals involved in the possession, use or trafficking of narcotic substances.
