KUWAIT CITY, Oct 8: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and in the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, received the visiting President of the UAE Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and his accompanying delegation. During the reception, both sides touched on the bilateral ties between the two countries and emphasised the importance of consolidating the frameworks of bilateral cooperation in a way that serves their mutual interests, especially in the economic and development fields. His Highness the Amir and Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed affirmed support for all initiatives and efforts aimed at establishing the foundations of comprehensive and just peace based on the two-state solution and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to achieve security and stability in the region.

His Highness and Sheikh Mohammad stressed the need for continued international efforts to recognise the Palestinian state to achieve all the aspirations and hopes of the brotherly Palestinian people. During the meeting, the most important issues of common Gulf interest were also discussed. Following the talks, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah held a banquet in honour of the UAE President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, on the occasion of his visit to the country. At the conclusion of the fraternal visit, the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and his accompanying delegation departed Kuwait, where they were seen off by His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and the Amiri Diwan Affairs Minister, Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah (KUNA)
